(1) Maneuverability
It mainly refers to the driver's steering feel under heavy load. In accordance with relevant national safety standards, the load on the steering axle shall account for no less than 20% of the vehicle's total weight when fully loaded. A lower ratio will make the vehicle unstable and impair its maneuverability. Excessively heavy load on the steering axle is also undesirable, as it leads to stiff steering, overheated tires and insufficient braking force.
Given the special nature of concrete mixers - concrete is a semi-fluid substance, especially when it has a high slump - the vehicle's center of gravity will shift backward when starting on an incline. This factor deserves special attention during vehicle selection.
(2) Lateral Stability
When a fully loaded concrete mixer truck makes a turn, its traveling speed and center of gravity height greatly affect lateral stability. Turning speed, the most influential factor, relies on the driver's safety awareness for proper control, while the height of the center of gravity is determined by product design and manufacturing.
Currently, the mixing drum of mainstream 8-cubic-meter mixer trucks on the market is generally tilted at 15 degrees, with a few models adopting a 13-degree angle. (3) Mixing Drum

Two key solutions are adopted to address this issue. First, the mixing drum is designed with sufficient capacity, which is usually measured by its water holding volume.
